to have NODDR take yet another step.
It was my experience so far, mainly, that people I talked to, did not really catch the idea of what I was talking about. Well, it might, indeed, be incredibly hard to walk on a ball when you have been walking on a plate all your life before…
We now live in liberal democratic communities. And we consciously differ the state we have reached from former less developed conditions, namely monarchy or dictatorship. So it is: Monarchy -> Democracy. That one can grab easily. New word, new condition, big difference! But when I put up: Democracy->Democracy and name it a difference of just about the same magnitude and scale, who can hold that tight? Where is the big difference between liberal democratic and liberal democratic???
A political economist tells you that it all starts with your need to secure an influence in your communities decision making. Them being the source of supply for so many valuable goods you heavily rely on. Moreover the political economist tells you that securing your stake in community decision making might be a tough job, getting tougher the higher the number of members a community has. That one will be best off not trying to do the job oneself but instead trade services with a specialist in the field, commonly refered to as politicians. That politicians are expected to trade their services just as any other specialist does.
Given that information you will have an eye open for the politicians offerings. But you have to be very lucky to actually trade for any of their services. You will realize that trading their services is only possible on a single day in about four years. Boahh! What is that? So the thesis of NODDR comes like this: Improving the availability of political services from a once-in-four-years availability to what is common standard in other service industries is about the same a magnitude of change as improving from monarchy to what we call democracy.
You all know that is is the freedom of choice for us fellow customers which drives competition in just about every part of industry and that it is competition being the major force behind product improvement and service quality. Freedom of choice is badly hurt given a once-in-four-years availability. So badly, you might worry about the service quality you are given. Is your influence in communities decision making secured? Do you live in a democracy? Good question in times we go for war with ‘Democracy’ written on our flags.
There are answers how to change from Democracy to Democracy. The answers might even be easily given compared to the relative toughness of the field of community decision making. The answer comes with eDemocracy, comes with the massive support of IT in the decision making process. Bigger trouble comes from the fact we already use the term Democracy for a condition which is none.
